ShelterTech respects the privacy of people who visit this website, subscribe to updates, or apply to volunteer.

Information we collect

We receive information you choose to submit through website forms, including your name, email address, volunteer interests, and message. Our hosting provider may also process basic technical information such as IP address, device information, and request logs to operate and secure the site.

We use PostHog to understand general website use. PostHog receives page visits, page exits, broad device and referral information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and interactions with donation links, email links, the newsletter form, and the volunteer form. We do not send PostHog form contents, email addresses, names, or identified user profiles. An anonymous browser identifier is stored in local storage so we can understand repeat visits. Session recording and broad interaction autocapture are disabled, and browser Do Not Track preferences are honored where available.

How we use information

We use submitted information to respond to inquiries, coordinate volunteers, send requested updates, protect the website, and improve our programs. We use anonymous website analytics to understand traffic, improve site content, and measure engagement with ways to contact and support ShelterTech. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

We use Vercel to host the website, PostHog to provide anonymous website analytics, Google to store form submissions, and Resend to transmit form notifications. These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.

Retention and your choices

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected and our legal obligations. You may ask us to update or delete information you submitted, or unsubscribe from communications at any time. You can also enable your browser’s Do Not Track preference to opt out of analytics collection where that signal is supported.
